32 Inch TVs – The Best 32 Inch TV on the Market?

leave a comment

If you have arrived at this page, it is probably because you are looking for the best 32 inch TV on the market – or available online.  Luckily you are in the right place – I have listed the best 32 inch TVs on the market at the moment here.  There is also a lot of other information around this site for those looking to buy a TV – such as this comparison of the different types of flat screen TVs available.

What is the Best type of TV to Buy Now?

There is a lot of debate about this at the moment – the difference between LCD, LED and plasma TV sets.  There are some noticeable differences in the key indicators in terms of the specifications – price (of course), picture quality, sound quality and energy efficiency and consumption.  it all boils down to what is the best value for money for most people, as someone for whom money is no object with the entire range of TVs within their price range, there is no need to look for a trade off between picture quality and energy consumption – for example.

However, most people have a budget -  and want to get the best picture, sound and energy consumption (usually an distant secondary concern for most – but should be taken notice of with constantly rising energy bills).

Ultimately, the picture quality depends more on the brand of TV than the specifications.  I explain the situation in more detail here, but the reason basically is that the picture quality is determined by the software on the TV rather than the hardware (this is true for all flat screen Televisions – LCD, plasma and LED).  Each brand has it’s own exclusive software program – and so the one with the best software will have the pest picture.

Sound quality is different.  It does depend on the hardware – and be warned, that the thinner the TV, the less high quality the sound is going to be (as a rule of thumb – of course, at the top end of the market in terms of price, again, this will be less of an issue).

Energy consumption for both LCD and LED televisions are about the same.  Plasma use much, much more electricity though.  A simple example – a 32 inch LED TV will use about 62-89 Watts, and LCD about the same and a plasma of the same size (32 inches)  will be in the region of 145-337.  There is a big difference – and it will add up over the lifetime of the TV on your electricity bills!

There are many good deals as well as best performing models – this list changes often, I update it usually every week as there are always new TVs being build and released on to the market.

What is the Best Deal at the Moment?

Online – the best deals on 32 inch TVS are listed here.

In store it is harder to tell, but as a rule of thumb, you will always find prices online to be lower – and deals to be better priced.  This is true for both budget television sets and the top of the range 32 inch TVs too.

General Advice When You Buy a New TV

leave a comment

Looking for a new television is not an easy job – there are literally thousands of them, with new models coming out every day and even new brands appearing in stores around the country on an almost monthly basis.

There are also a lot of different variables to take onto account – such as the size picture quality, the type of TV (plasma, LDC or LED), energy efficiency (often ignored, but pretty important with electricity prices rising so fast as they have been in recent years), sound quality and much more.  Not to mention price and value for money!

While it may be fun, and is in today’s modern society certainly a must have object in the home, sometimes shopping for a TV or any other electrical goods for that matter can seem link a difficult and thankless job.  That is why review sites are so useful for the would-be TV shopper to research and most importantly of all compare what is on the market.  In fact, potentially the most useful tool for anyone looking to buy a 32 inch TV, for example, would be some kind of list that ranks the different products on the market by the best picture, best value, best sound, etc.  All round the best 32 inch TV.

That is what I aim to do on this site – to help people looking to buy a television set by ranking them in order of the best by the most important metrics and variables.  Click here to see the current best buys on the market at the moment.

What is the most important thing to look for when buying a new TV?

There are a lot of different variables, and some will matter more to one persona than to another.  However, the main things that people look for are:

  1. Picture quality (usually the most important for many people – especially if you are going to use it for sports or films)
  2. Sound quality (often ignored)
  3. Price – so important, often the main factor for most people.
  4. Screen size (Will it fit in your lounge?  Will it look too big?)
  5. Energy efficiency (probably the most overlooked – but very relevant in the high priced energy market at the moment)
  6. Internet access – not all TVs have this capability, most of the top of the range ones will though

These are the main ones – the hard part is balancing features with a reasonable price; getting good value for money.

Is it possible to fing the perfect television for a good price?

Yes – there are many suitably equipped and reasonably priced television sets.  I have listed the best in a post here – click here to see them now!

But yes, there is a lot of choice in the market at the moment.  There are a lot to choose from, but there are some clear choices too if you know what you want and know what to look for in terms of specifications, price, etc.

Should You Buy Your TV Online or In Store?

leave a comment

If you are looking for a new 32 inch TV, the best place to start is on the internet.  however, is is it also the best place to buy – and can the internet ever be a complete and effective substitute for actually going into a store and testing out a TV, getting advice from the experts in store and maybe even haggling over prices?  I think the answer is yes – but there are both advantages and disadvantages to be aware of.

There are some amazing deals to be found online – you can get a 32 inch TV (flat screen, pretty good specifications) for less than £200.  Several years ago, this would have been unthinkable – but there are a lot of online stores offering huge discounts.

The advantages to buying online

The biggest reason to buy a TV online is price – you will find it very difficult to get the same levels of discounts and deals on the high street, but online there are quite simply loads of brilliant offers.

Most online stores have larger warehouses and offer free delivery – so it’s a bit easier too.  But the main advantage is the price – you can save hundreds of pounds easily by buying online rather than in store – click here for the latest deals on 32 inch TVs to see what I mean.

Do not underestimate the discounts available online.

The disadvantages

The main problem with buying a TV (or any other similar appliance) on the Internet is that you cannot physically touch it – you cannot try it out, take it for a test drive, so to speak.  This is a big issue – what looks and sounds good in writing and pictures may be quite different in reality.

You could always look at the best deals available online at the moment (click here for these – I have a constantly updated list with reviews!) as there are a lot of them along with some very thorough reviews and customer feedback comments.  I have some on this site – but there are also lots of other sites that provide decent comparisons of features.

However, the internet is a good tool for researching and comparing TVs impartially – without a store salesperson trying to get you to buy the most expensive one.  It’s good to do at least a bit of research online first, then try it in store – then finally buy online with a big discount.

Is it worth buying a TV online?

Many people research their purchases in store, and then purchase online.  This must be highly irritating for the stores and the people who work in them, but it is about the most effective way of getting the best deal while also making sure that you know exactly what you are buying.  A new TV is not usually an impulse purchase – it is going to be in your home for  (hopefully) a long time and could cost a lot of money – it is worth doing the research.  however, is is unlikely that you will find a high street store that can compete on proce with some of the deals to be found online.

LED, LCD or Plasma? The Best Options for a 32 Inch TV

leave a comment

In many ways all three are the same – LCD (), LED () and Plasma TVs all have similar functionality.

There are, however, some notable differences in some areas – such as the power consumption.  This varies wildly between the different types, and unless you don’t care at all about the environment or your electricity bills, it is something that you may want to consider before making a purchase like this.

LED vs LCD vs Plasma TVs

At the top end of the market all three do the same things – they all have good picture quality, can handle HD and are built ready to connect to the Internet and stream digital content.  But if you are looking for the best value or a good deal, it is not so simple as this.  Pay top dollar and you get the best, it does not matter whether it’s a plasma, LED or LCD TV – it’s going to be excellent.

Picture Quality and Clarity

This is more to do with the software inside the television than the hardware that actually makes up the body of the thing.  Unlike old fashioned CRT TVs, all three of these newer types work by up-scaling and de-interlacing TV images, instead of scanning them directly onto the screen (like a CRT TV does).  This means that it is the software that will have a bigger impact on the picture quality than the hardware.

The software within the TV differs from one manufacturer to another, so the main difference in picture quality from one 32 inch TV to the next will depend as much as or even more than the brand as the technical specification of the hardware itself.

Sound and Audio Quality

As televisions get slimmer and slimmer – more and more appealing to look at too – the sound quality has generally deteriorated.  With the current technology available it is simply not possible to maintain or improve sound quality while constantly making the hardware ever smaller and more compact – at least not without great expense.

While this is true for all slim flat screen televisions, it tends to be more noticeable with LED TVs, as they tend to be more compact.

Of course, with added speakers or sound system, the poor sound quality can be worked around fairly easily and without too much additional expense.

This is not a huge problem for most people though – just something to be aware of when looking for a television.

Energy Consumption

By far, plasma TVs are the most inefficient in terms of energy consumption – a 32 inch plasma TV will consume approximately 200 watts while the a 32 inch LCD TV or 32 inch LED TV will consume between 70-80 watts.

LEDs are usually the most energy efficient, but often more highly priced.

Which is the best?

It depends what you are looking for.  All three have both advantages and disadvantages, so the choice is not a simple and straight forward one for everyone.

I have written more about the current best 32 inch TV on the market – which is frequently updated.  This may be useful for a more thorough analysis.  But in short, LED TVs are the most energy efficient they tend to have poorer sound quality as they are thinner and more compact.  Plasma TVs use much more power, but there are a lot of good value deals available for them, which may help compensate for the additional expense on energy.  Most new TV sets will have the hardware to provide a good picture, it will depend more on the software, and thus the make of the TV, which TV has the best visual resolution.
